Easy Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

3 bars (6 oz. total) semi sweet chocolate baking bars, melted and cooled
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 large eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 stp. salt
1 cup milk
Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round baking pans or 1 (13×9 inch) baking pan
  3. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl
  4. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy
  5. Add eggs; beat for 1 minute
  6. Beat in melted chocolate
  7. Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with milk
  8. Pour into prepared baking pan(s)
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean
  10. Cool in pan(s) for 20 minutes
  11. Invert onto wire racks to cool completely
  12. Frost with Creamy Chocolate Frosting
