Chocolate Mud Cake Recipe

Ingredients

Cake:
1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
2 cups mini marshmallows

Frosting:
1 cup butter
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa
1 lb powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350.F
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter. In mixing bowl add melted butter, cocoa, sugar, and eggs, beating well.
  3. Add flour, salt, vanilla and chopped nuts, making sure all is well beaten.
  4. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch greased pan.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until cake no longer sticksto toothpick.
  6. Cover with marshmallows immediately after removing from oven.
  7. Immediately begin frosting. In a medium saucepan, melt butter,milk,and cocoa, mixing well, until mixture is smootth.
  8. Beat in powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until creamy.
  9. Pour on cake while warm. Frosting will soak into cake and some marshmallows will be visible.
